Silver Lake Trial Information

Time Trail Bike Leg
Both the 7 mile Short Course and the 22 mile Long Course will take place strickly on Silver Lake Road. It will take the form of a Time-Trial. Riders will depart at 30-second for the 7 mile course and 1-minute intervals for the 22 mile course. We will post a list of start times 1/2 hour prior to the start.

In this Time Trial race, the riders are not permitted to draft (ride closely behind or to the side) other riders. It’s just you against the clock with the shortest time winning.
You need a desire to challenge yourself and compete for your best time. Unlike Criteriums and other Road Races, you don’t need to worry about high speed turns, riding in a pack nor trying to pace yourself with the others.

Course
Silver Lake Road and S. Pass Road between Maple Falls and SR547

Warm Up
Warm up in Silver Lake Park. Obey speed limit!!

7 Mile Course
Mainly flat out and back course with some very light grades (<2%), fun swoopie corners that follow Maple Creek towards Maple Falls and back. Riders start heading south at 30 second intervals. Riders finish at Silver Lake Park. Vehicles have right of way at turnaround.

22 Mile Course
Double out and back course. Starts heading north with nice curvy road then drops down a 6-8% grade to the long (about 7 miles) flat S. Pass Road out and back. Vehicles have right of way at turnaround. Course climbs back up to Silver Lake with a couple steep grades, passes back by the Start/Finish and continues south to Maple Falls on the 7 mile Short Course.   Course returns to finish at Silver Lake Park.
